I’m going to revisit this topic and spend more time on it, because I am totally FREAKED out about all the weird chemicals in most of the products we use. A friend of mine passed this along to me and I wanted to share it. It’s an 8 minute movie about all the nasty gunk that the cosmetics companies are allowed to put in their products. Check it out, and we will talk more about this later, AND…I’ll have some tasty recommendations for products that hopefully will NOT give you cancer, reproductive problems, or three heads. But let’s start with this.

Yikes! You would think that with the amount we spend on a single product companies would be funded enough to find chemically compatible but safe ingredients to replace toxic additives. And they should want to if not for ethical reasons: I will be clicking my cane down the aisles of Sephora as long as I can hobble. So spare me the carcinogens and I’ll be picking up $30 tubes until I’m 120.
I’ll be right there with you…curlers gracing the top of my head, bedazzled cane in hand, ruby red lipstick on my dentures. There really is a plethora of chemical free or at least less-chemically products to choose from at our beloved Sephora. Some of my favorite brands like Tarte, Josie Maran, La Vanilla, and Ole Henricksen are somewhat clean and chemical free (at least free of the nastiest stuff like phtalates, parabens, and sulfates). I’m hoping that soon enough all of the companies will get on board and stop polluting our bodies and the planet with their yucky ickiness.
